Qualification: M.Sc/ ME/ M.Tech/ B.Sc/ BA (Zoology/ Botany/ Geology/ Anthropology/ Indian Archaeology/ Sanskrit/ History/ Chemistry (Main) and Electro Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering (Technology )/ History )
Experience: Research Experience with Scientific Publications
Age Limit: 18-30 yrs
Selection: Selection will be made in three successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination (ii) Oral Test
Examination Centre: Examination will be held at the Chennai Centre (Code No. 001) only
Examination fee: Rs.150 (Examination Fee Rs.100 + Application fee Rs.50). Candidates claiming exemption from examination fee should pay Rs.50/- towards Application fee. (Remittance of fee: i) Online Payment (Net Banking, Credit card/ Debit card) ii)Offline Payment (Post Office or Indian Bank))

Company Profile

The Madras Service Commission thus came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929. Madras Presidency had the unique honour, of being the only province in India to establish the first Service Commission. The Madras Service Commission started with three Members, including the Chairman. After re-organisation of States in 1957, several Commissions were constituted. The Madras Service Commission became Madras Public Service Commission with headquarters at Madras in the year 1957. During 1970, when the name of the State was changed into Tamil Nadu, the Madras Public Service Commission automatically became the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
